The Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon is excited to announce their 2013 Marathon date, Sunday, February 24, 2013, and is now offering a special discounted price for participants that register early.
Participants for the 2013 Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon are encouraged to reserve their spots as soon as possible. Whether you register for the full or half marathon, the first 100 participants will receive a free, limited edition “In-Training” t-shirt courtesy of the El Paso Marathon Foundation.
“We are excited to announce the new date for the 2013 Marathon and encourage runners to register early. Last year, with the change in marathon course route, we were able to double our full marathon participants. Let’s make this year, bigger than ever! The El Paso Marathon is a great community event that draws thousands of runners from El Paso, Mexico, New Mexico and the nation and we look forward to doing it again in 2013,” said Race Director Mike Coulter.
The Courses
The marathon route starts atop the Franklin Mountains on the northern edge of the city, meanders down Transmountain Road alongside desert landscapes, passes through Fort Bliss (the first official marathon to run through a military installation) to the beautiful Austin Terrace neighborhood and finishes in historic Downtown El Paso. The elevation drop of 1, 584 feet will make the Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon one of the fastest 26.2-mile courses in the nation. The El Paso Marathon will continue to be a Boston Marathon qualifier.
The half marathon will begin and end at the marathon finish line located in downtown El Paso’s Union Plaza District and will take runners to the beautiful Austin Terrace neighborhood and back, while 5kers will enjoy a run through historic downtown past the Magoffin Home, San Jacinto Plaza and the Plaza Theater. All races will end at El Paso’s Union Plaza District.

EL PASO, Texas – The Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon is making exciting changes for 2012 that will feature a faster marathon course, cooler temperatures and better wind conditions ideal for long-distance running. The half marathon and Jarritos 5K courses will also see changes that we feel will make our participants happy. Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 5, 2012!
“We are excited with both the marathon course and date changes. Having the event in February will hopefully draw more runners from Mexico and the new marathon course is sure to offer runners an opportunity to run a personal best while enjoying one of the most spectacular sunrises in the southwest,” said Race Director Mike Coulter.

To all,
What a beautiful day for a race!
Plenty of sunshine, entertainment, food, enthusiastic support on the course and finish line, and of course Michelob Ultra!
We have posted an incomplete set of results due to a unusually high number of bad chip reads at the finish line. Currently we are going through and re-verifying with our manual back-up. If your time does not appear, please email us with your bib number and estimated time and we will make the appropriate adjustment.

Preparations have already begun for what is sure to be the biggest and most exciting 26.2 Mile Fiesta ever!
Committee members have been hard at work since March making plans for the 2011 El Paso Marathon scheduled for Sunday, March 6, 2011.
The course, a Boston qualifier will be the same, but be sure what you will experience while running this race will be the most exciting and enthusiastic course to date!
